Judo world championships in Baku to award medals in two classes on Oct. 9

Friday's programme features men's under-100 kg and women's under-78 kg events, with the final block scheduled for 5 p.m. Moscow time.

Preliminary bouts in both classes began at 9:30 a.m. Moscow time. Two sets of medals will be decided during the day. The final block includes bronze-medal contests and the finals, according to the European Judo Union schedule.

The championships are being held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku from October 4 to 11. The European Judo Union lists Friday's preliminary rounds for 10:30 a.m. Baku time and the final block for 6 p.m. That matches the Russian schedule after accounting for the time difference.

The individual programme runs through October 10. The mixed-team event is scheduled for October 11. The tournament will therefore continue for two more days after Friday's men's under-100 kg and women's under-78 kg competitions.
