Noe Seifert resumes training after concussion ahead of world championships

The Swiss gymnast missed his national championships after falling from the high bar but says he has returned to training and is aiming for the world championships in Rotterdam.

Noe Seifert fell on his head during a high-bar training session last week and suffered a concussion. The injury forced the 27-year-old gymnast to miss the Swiss championships in Winterthur, held last weekend.

The competition had been a chance for him to win the all-around title for a fifth consecutive time. But Seifert said several days of rest had helped. He reported that he had already resumed training and was feeling more confident.

The next major event is the world championships in Rotterdam, scheduled for October 17-25. It will be the fifth world championships appearance for the gymnast from Aargau. In 2025, he won bronze in the all-around.

In Rotterdam, Seifert hopes to reach the all-around final and perhaps qualify for a final on an individual apparatus. He also said the Swiss team wanted to perform well together. As the squad’s most experienced member, he tries to strengthen team cohesion, including by suggesting board games in the evenings.
