The Kerala High Court directed the Kerala Water Authority to repair and strengthen pump-station buildings along the Sabarimala pilgrimage route. Work at facilities in Neelimala and Appachimedu is due by November 10. The court also asked the Sabarimala Development Project to monitor progress and arrange regular inspections with a structural engineer.

Information submitted to the court put temporary reinforcement at ₹10 lakh and the full renovation proposal for the pump houses at ₹3.21 crore. The bench was considering reports from Special Commissioner R. Jayakrishnan, which also covered waste management in Erumely during worship and festival periods.

Authorities told the court that areas around Valiya Thodu and Thadayana had been cleaned and that ₹15 crore had been allocated for upkeep of the Chalakkayam–Pamba road. The state’s Chief Minister set October 31 as the deadline for preparations for the 2026–27 pilgrimage season. The Travancore Devaswom Board’s chief engineer must personally report to the court on progress and work quality.
