Kharge and Gandhi plan election-related meeting with India's chief justice

Mallikarjun Kharge said he and Rahul Gandhi would meet Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on October 12. The Congress leaders want to present concerns about the functioning of constitutional institutions.

Kharge said the meeting was scheduled between 4 pm and 5 pm. Speaking in Bengaluru on October 11, he said he and Gandhi had written letters to the chief justice.

Kharge said the delegation would explain its concerns and make a request to the chief justice. He emphasised that it would not demand specific action.

Kharge accused the governing Bharatiya Janata Party of electoral malpractice. He claimed that the Election Commission was unable to act independently.
