Rama Rao urges Telangana chief minister to fast-track JNTU campus in Sircilla
K.T. Rama Rao has asked Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to speed up construction of a permanent campus for JNTU Engineering College in Rajanna Sircilla district and address problems facing its students.
In a letter, the BRS working president and Sircilla legislator said the ₹402 crore project received administrative approval in 2021 but construction had yet to begin. Twenty acres have been allotted at Mandepalli village.
The engineering college currently operates temporarily on the premises of a degree college at Agraharam. Rama Rao raised concerns about proposals to move it to a private building, saying another relocation could inconvenience students, faculty and other staff and leave existing classrooms and laboratories unused.
He urged the government to release the necessary funds and begin work at the allotted site. He also asked the chief minister to direct officials not to issue notices requiring the college to vacate its present premises until suitable alternative arrangements were available, to prevent disruption to teaching.
