KinoFest Tricolor announces winners in four main competition categories

Ivan Sosnin's Legends of Our Ancestors won the feature-film category at KinoFest Tricolor. Organisers published the results on October 9 after the awards ceremony held the previous day in Moscow.

A jury chaired by Vladimir Kott selected winners in four main categories. Anna Fradkina's Matinee won best live-action short, Vladislav Bakhanovich's Whale Calves won best documentary short and Zhanna Bekmambetova's Son won best animated short.

The audience award went to two films: Ilya Lebedev's One of the Guys and Andrey Zaytsev's Two in One Life, Not Counting the Dog. Elizaveta Khlomova's Four Stops received the music award. Beauty, directed by Anton Bogdanov, won for cinematography.

The Moscow finale concluded a week of screenings in seven cities: Ufa, Rostov-on-Don, Tver, Tyumen, Yoshkar-Ola, Khanty-Mansiysk and Smolensk. Regional audiences could see the finalist films before the awards ceremony.

The festival focused on professional family cinema and relationships between generations and loved ones. Organiser representative Svetlana Sumorokova described it as support for filmmakers telling such stories. Kott thanked participants and film creators. Tricolor published the results, while Oblastnaya Gazeta also reported the victory of Sosnin's film.
