Messi and Suarez doubles lift Inter Miami to 4-0 victory

Inter Miami beat D.C. United 4-0 at home in MLS on October 10. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez each scored twice as Miami ended a five-match winless run in league play.

Suarez scored in the 3rd and 39th minutes, with German Berterame assisting both goals, according to Miami's official match report. The hosts led 2-0 at halftime.

Messi scored from a Suarez pass in the 47th minute and completed his double in the 60th. The Argentine now has 23 goals in this MLS regular season.

The victory took Miami to 49 points, up from 46 before the game. The team had gone five league matches without a win heading into the encounter.

Messi returned to club action after his farewell appearance for Argentina against Benin. He scored once and provided two assists in Tuesday's 3-0 international victory.

Miami next host New York City FC on October 14. The team had entered the D.C. United fixture after a draw with San Diego and a defeat at Columbus in its two preceding league matches.
