Putin says Russia's grain harvest has passed 100 million tonnes
Vladimir Putin said on October 11 that Russia's grain harvest had already exceeded 100 million tonnes. He described the expected harvest for the current agricultural year as substantial.
The president gave the figure in a video address marking the professional holiday for agricultural and processing-industry workers. RIA Novosti reported his remarks, while RBC also reported that the 100-million-tonne threshold had been passed.
Earlier in October, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev forecast a total grain harvest of around 140 million tonnes for 2026. That projection covers the whole year and is distinct from the volume already collected cited by Putin.
Russia harvested about 140 million tonnes of grain in 2025, including 91 million tonnes of wheat. Putin did not give a separate wheat-harvest estimate in these reported remarks.
