Kentucky beats LSU in overtime with decisive two-point conversion

Kentucky defeated No. 10 LSU 35-34 in Lexington on October 10, handing the Tigers their second loss of the college football season. The Wildcats won by converting for two points after an overtime touchdown.
LSU led 27-24 with 97 seconds remaining before punting. Kentucky drove 63 yards in 1:25 to set up a game-tying field goal. The teams then traded overtime touchdowns before the Wildcats' successful conversion settled the game.
The defeat extended LSU's losing streak in Southeastern Conference road games to eight. Its last away conference victory came against Arkansas on October 19, 2024, when the Tigers won 34-10.
Quarterback Sam Leavitt turned the ball over twice in the second half. LSU gained only 94 rushing yards on 36 attempts and committed seven penalties for 50 yards. Kentucky was penalised twice for 20 yards.
Lane Kiffin's team still faces Mississippi State, Alabama, Texas and Tennessee. Will Stein's Kentucky side had already won at Texas A&M earlier in the season.
