Russia's defence ministry reports 479 Ukrainian drones downed overnight

Russia's defence ministry said air defences intercepted and destroyed 479 Ukrainian drones overnight into October 11. It reported operations over Russian regions and the Black Sea.

The ministry named Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Ryazan, Oryol, Lipetsk and Voronezh regions. Its list also included Tambov, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Saratov, Samara, Penza, Volgograd and Rostov regions.

It also reported drones destroyed over Krasnodar territory, Crimea and the Black Sea. RIA Novosti and Interfax carried the ministry's account. The statement did not give a regional breakdown of the total.

The ministry did not specify where debris fell or describe possible consequences on the ground. The reported figure refers to drones intercepted and destroyed overnight, rather than the number of attacks or ground targets struck.
