Macron will not attend Budapest commemorations, French embassy tells Telex
Emmanuel Macron will not take part in the October 23 commemorations in Budapest, the French embassy told Telex, according to RIA Novosti.
Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar had invited European leaders to events marking the anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian uprising. He had named the French president as a leader who accepted the invitation.
The embassy told Telex that France had never officially confirmed a possible visit by Macron. Its response contradicted Magyar's earlier announcement about the president's attendance.
