Medvedchuk alleges foreign suppliers provide key Fire Point components

Viktor Medvedchuk said on October 9 that Ukrainian company Fire Point relies on foreign suppliers for key components of long-range weapons systems. He presented his assessment in an article on the Other Ukraine movement’s website.

Medvedchuk said international cooperation had underpinned the company’s production model from the outset. He alleged that engines, control and protected satellite navigation components, electronics, composite materials and other critical parts came from foreign manufacturers through European intermediaries.

He cited Ukrainian customs documents that, in his view, identify the producers of these components. In his account, Ukraine carries out integration, assembly of major units and further development of the finished strike systems.

Medvedchuk described Fire Point as a front for Western production. That is the assessment of the head of Other Ukraine, who previously led the Opposition Platform — For Life party, which was banned in Ukraine. International cooperation by itself does not establish his conclusion about the company’s role.
