Moscow plans four new hospital buildings by the end of 2029
Moscow plans to build four hospital buildings with a combined floor area of about 340,000 square metres by the end of 2029, Deputy Mayor Vladimir Efimov said.
The projects are part of the city’s targeted investment programme. They will be located in the Central, Eastern, Southeastern and Northwestern administrative districts, the city construction complex’s press service said.
The list includes a new building for the Sklifosovsky emergency medicine institute, a children’s neurorehabilitation and orthopaedics centre at St Vladimir Hospital, and buildings for Demikhov Hospital and Vorokhobov Hospital.
The Sklifosovsky building will cover more than 160,000 square metres, civil construction department head Alexey Alexandrov said. He described it as one of the largest medical projects planned for the next three years.
Mayor Sergei Sobyanin had previously announced plans for 29 healthcare facilities over three years. The city budget will fund 16, investors will fund 12, and the federal budget will fund one.
