Nikita Grebenkin faces at least four months out after back surgery

Philadelphia Flyers forward Nikita Grebenkin will miss at least four months after back surgery, the NHL club announced on October 10.
The 23-year-old Russian has yet to play this season, according to Daily Faceoff. The club's timetable describes a minimum absence and does not guarantee a return after four months.
Grebenkin joined Philadelphia in a 2025 trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs, who selected him with the 135th overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft.
In the previous regular season, he played 55 games and recorded 14 points, comprising four goals and 10 assists. Daily Faceoff reports that he signed a two-year deal with Philadelphia over the summer, with an annual salary-cap charge of $1.1 million.
