Nikitin says support for southern Russian river shipping and ports is being prepared

Russia's Transport Ministry is working on support for river shipping companies and ports in the south of the country, Andrei Nikitin told reporters. He described the issue as a priority when asked about measures for the transport sector.

The statement came on Wednesday amid a government reshuffle. The State Duma approved Nikitin's candidacy for deputy prime minister and Dmitry Yadrov's candidacy for transport minister.

Before his nomination to the government, Yadrov had headed the Federal Air Transport Agency since September 2023.
