IndiGo plane’s nose found damaged after normal landing in Lucknow

The nose section of an IndiGo aircraft flying from Patna to Lucknow was found damaged after a routine landing. All 104 passengers were safe, and officials are checking whether lightning may have caused the damage.

Flight 6E925 landed at Lucknow airport at about 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7. Preliminary information indicates that ground staff noticed the damage after landing. The aircraft was taken out of service pending a technical inspection.

An airport official told PTI that the plane was undergoing checks and other necessary procedures. A lightning strike during adverse weather is among the possibilities being examined. Officials have not confirmed that as the cause.

The incident did not involve an emergency landing. The Hindu reported that IndiGo would provide further technical details after its investigation.
