Orenburg president says Akhmetzyanov remains in charge

Orenburg president Dmitry Rubashko told Sport-Express that Ildar Akhmetzyanov remains the team's head coach despite reports linking him with Rubin Kazan.

Rubashko dismissed suggestions that the coach had said goodbye to his players. He said Akhmetzyanov was concentrating on preparing the team and that reports of a move had not changed the club's plans.

Orenburg are ninth in the Russian Premier League with 12 points. They are scheduled to play away to Rodina on October 19 in round 11.
