Pallas's cat Boris reaches 5.7 kilograms ahead of winter

Boris, a Pallas's cat at Krasnoyarsk's Royev Ruchey park, weighs 5.7 kilograms, the city administration reported on October 9. The figure is his current weight, not the amount gained.

His autumn preparation began in September under specialist supervision. Newslab reported a September 1 weight of 4.05 kilograms, a difference of 1.65 kilograms by October 9. Specialists increased his diet's calorie content after checkups.

Boris reached about 6.4 kilograms last season. Staff said this year's seasonal weight gain is continuing; the earlier figure is a comparison rather than a stated target.

Pallas's cats build fat reserves and grow thicker fur before winter. Boris was born in Novosibirsk in 2023 and moved to the park in August 2025.
