Partners attended births chosen by 42.5% of regional mothers

Births with a partner present were chosen by 42.5% of women giving birth in the Moscow region since the start of 2026, regional Health Minister Maxim Zabelin said. The service is free.

Zabelin said having a loved one nearby matters to mothers. The regional ministry also listed gentle and vertical childbirth options and doula support.

Women seeking a partner's attendance should apply to their maternity hospital or perinatal centre in advance. The accompanying person must provide examination results confirming good health.
