Passengers queue outside Moscow Vnukovo airport after flight restrictions

Passengers waited outside Terminal A on the morning of Oct. 9 following overnight flight restrictions. Russia’s aviation authority later announced that operations had resumed.
Lenta.ru reported that the Telegram channel Krysha TurDoma published a passenger’s recording showing people gathered outside the terminal doors. The person who filmed it said the queue was moving slowly and only one entrance door was open.
The passenger estimated that about 1,000 people were waiting and reported the presence of armed police. That figure was an eyewitness estimate cited by the outlet. The report did not provide official confirmation of the number.
Overnight restrictions affected arrivals and departures at Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky. Russia’s aviation authority said the measures were needed for flight safety.
At 11:30 p.m. Moscow time on Oct. 9, Interfax reported that restrictions at Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo had been lifted. The morning recording depicts conditions at the time it was filmed.
