A Cessna Grand Caravan EX carrying valuables for Ecuador's central bank left the runway while landing at Mariscal La Mar airport in Cuenca. RBC, citing Expreso, reports that the two people aboard were injured and are in stable condition.

The aircraft was flying from Guayaquil to Cuenca as an air taxi carrying valuables. After leaving the runway, it ended up on Hurtado de Mendoza Avenue. The report does not establish the precise cause or circumstances of the accident.

Ecuador's central bank said the cargo was undamaged. The valuables remain intact and under guard. The bank's statement concerns the consignment's security rather than the aircraft's technical condition.

Traffic on Hurtado de Mendoza and Avenida España was temporarily stopped after the accident. Specialists removed fuel before moving the aircraft. The original report does not give a completion time for the recovery operation or the reopening of the roads.

RBC also recalls two earlier runway excursions in Russia. An S7 Boeing 737 cargo aircraft was damaged in Norilsk in August. Two days later, a state aviation aircraft went beyond the runway in Perm, prompting a temporary airport closure and delays to more than 10 flights.
