Sagal Abdi-Wali wins Holborn and St Pancras by-election

Labour candidate Sagal Abdi-Wali was elected to Britain's parliament for Holborn and St Pancras, winning 12,292 votes ahead of Green Party leader Zack Polanski.
Camden Council's official results confirmed that Polanski received 8,928 votes, leaving a 3,364-vote margin between the leading candidates. Turnout was 38.76%.
The Conservative candidate finished third with 1,922 votes. Reform UK followed with 1,612, while the Liberal Democrats received 924. Labour retained the constituency's parliamentary seat.
The election took place on Oct. 8 after former prime minister Keir Starmer left parliament. He had represented the north London constituency since 2015 and resigned as its MP in early September, shortly after leaving the premiership.
RIA Novosti, citing Sky News, reported that Abdi-Wali was born in Somalia in 1984 and arrived in Britain at six years old. The result elects her to the House of Commons.
