Portugal provisionally suspends Cristiano Ronaldo during disciplinary inquiry

Portugal's football federation announced a provisional suspension for Cristiano Ronaldo on October 10 as it investigated his departure from the national team camp.
The federation said proceedings opened on October 9 to examine facts reported on October 7. Its statement was reproduced by Sky Sports.
The case was designated urgent and sent to the disciplinary investigation committee on October 10. Access is restricted until the investigation ends.
Ronaldo had left the team camp after a disagreement with coach Jorge Jesus. He described a breakdown in trust and apologised to supporters. Jesus had left open a return.
The suspension is provisional. The quoted statement announces neither a final punishment of fixed duration nor a date for completing the inquiry.
