Aliyev and Kadyrov discuss cooperation during Baku meeting

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov on October 10. They discussed prospects for cooperation in various fields, Aliyev’s press service said.
Kadyrov congratulated Azerbaijan’s people on the resolution of the Karabakh issue and expressed confidence that peace and stability would prevail in the region. Those remarks represent the visiting official’s position.
Aliyev thanked his guest and highlighted longstanding friendship between Azerbaijanis and Chechens. He spoke positively about Chechnya’s development under Kadyrov and noted that the republic’s leader had visited Azerbaijan before.
The president expressed hope for further visits by Kadyrov. The press statement named no specific projects, financial commitments or signed agreements. It described the talks as a discussion of cooperation prospects.
The two officials also visited Baku White City and attended a joint lunch that day. Azerbaijan’s presidential website confirmed the meeting and associated activities.
