Andhra Pradesh launches roads programme for 1,341 tribal settlements

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan launched Adavi Thalli Baata 2.0 on October 11, with plans for 1,976 kilometres of roads serving tribal settlements.

The announced budget is 2,052 crore rupees, or 20.52 billion rupees. Kalyan said at least 735 villages would gain road access in the first phase. The roads, including 45 bridges, are scheduled to be commissioned by March 2027.

He laid the foundation stone for a 3.4-kilometre road at Kakavada in Polavaram district. The project is intended to serve 1,400 families across four villages in Rampachodavaram mandal. Kalyan said difficult terrain increased construction costs in tribal areas.

At the same meeting, he launched the distribution of 38 types of farm equipment with a 90 percent subsidy. The initiative has a budget of 68 crore rupees and targets 34,000 farmers. He also said 135 mobile phone towers were being commissioned, while the Forest Department was reviewing permission for 48 fibre-optic cable routes.
