Robin Fellhauer scores fastest goal in Bundesliga history

Augsburg midfielder Robin Fellhauer set a Bundesliga scoring record against Bayern Munich on October 10, finding the net less than nine seconds after kick-off.
Bayern began the Matchday 5 fixture by sending the ball back to Manuel Neuer. The goalkeeper tried to play it away from his goal, but Fellhauer intercepted and finished into an empty net. The Bundesliga’s official website confirmed the record.
RBC, citing Opta, rounded the goal time to eight seconds. Bayern’s match report gives a more precise figure of 8.37 seconds. Neuer was roughly 30 metres from his goal when he lost possession.
The previous record was nine seconds, shared by two players. Karim Bellarabi scored for Bayer Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund on August 23, 2014. Kevin Volland matched that mark for Hoffenheim against Bayern on August 22, 2015.
Augsburg and Bayern went on to draw 2-2. The record-breaking start gave the home side an early advantage, but the Munich team subsequently came back from behind twice.
