Rosseti and Rosatom discuss Far East energy-storage project

Rosseti is discussing an energy-storage project in Russia’s Far East with Rosatom, grid company chief Andrey Ryumin said at Russian Energy Week on October 14.
Ryumin identified the Far East as the region under consideration for their next joint project. Rosatom director general Alexey Likhachev had previously expressed interest in energy-storage projects there at the Eastern Economic Forum.
Renera is responsible for developing energy-storage systems within Rosatom. The Russian government signed an agreement with the corporation on developing the sector in 2024.
Renera is establishing battery factories in Kaliningrad region and Moscow, each designed for annual output of 4 GWh. They will produce traction batteries for electric vehicles and batteries for stationary storage. The company plans to reach total manufacturing capacity of 14 GWh by 2030.
