Rostov-on-Don to begin switching on heating on October 15

Rostov-on-Don to begin switching on heating on October 15

City authorities have decided to start the heating season despite warm weather. They expect the full connection process to take about two weeks.

Mayor Alexander Skryabin announced the decision after a meeting at the city administration. Kindergartens, schools, hospitals and other social facilities are due to receive heat first, followed by residential buildings.

The process requires boiler plants to start operating and system settings to be adjusted. Skryabin said 16 teams from Teplokommunenergo and nine from Rostov Heating Networks would carry out the work.

Preparations cover 4,976 apartment buildings, 600 social facilities, 246 boiler plants and more than 1,200 kilometers of heating networks.

City authorities said heat suppliers had allocated more than 1.5 billion rubles to network and equipment upgrades in 2026. They replaced 28 connections to residential buildings and removed 11 obsolete basement gas boiler plants. October 15 marks the start of connections rather than simultaneous heating in every building.
