Rubio puts Hormuz oil flows at 13-14 million barrels a day
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said an average of about 13-14 million barrels of oil a day had passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the preceding ten days.
In an interview with Breitbart, he said shipments on some days had reached pre-conflict levels. Rubio also said Iran was trying to control the strait but had, in his assessment, already lost that control.
The secretary said US forces were escorting and defending ships. He added that Iran was continuing to fire at vessels despite the recovery in oil flows.
