Russia says it struck vessel bound for Odesa and Ukrainian defence-industry sites

Russian forces overnight attacked a vessel carrying military goods bound for Odesa and defence-industry facilities in several Ukrainian regions, the Russian Defence Ministry said.

The ministry also said the Danube Ship Repair enterprise at the port of Izmail was among the targets. It claimed the site manufactured and stored uncrewed boats. The available material did not include independent confirmation of that claim.

The Defence Ministry said the strikes hit production of Flamingo cruise missiles and their components. It did not specify which facilities were hit or identify the regions.

On Sunday, the ministry warned that Russia would intensify attacks on Ukraine’s defence industry. It linked the warning to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s stated threat to step up attacks on oil refineries. The ministry’s allegation that Ukrainian forces target civilian facilities reflects the Russian side’s position. The RIA Novosti report was published on October 7.
