Russian agencies prepare agenda for minority shareholder protection group
Russia’s Finance Ministry, central bank and Prosecutor General’s Office have prepared a list of issues for a working group on minority shareholder protection, Finance Ministry official Alexey Yakovlev said.
The agencies are agreeing how the group will operate, and it has not yet held a meeting. The ministry proposed convening participants at the government’s executive office, Yakovlev told the Future of the Bond Market forum.
He said market representatives and associations of institutional and retail investors could join the discussions. He proposed making the prepared agenda public after it is approved.
In spring 2026, Vladimir Putin instructed the government, central bank and Prosecutor General’s Office to submit proposals for a coordination mechanism to protect minority shareholders. Deputy Finance Minister Ivan Chebeskov said in June that the agencies had agreed to establish a dedicated working group.
