Russians are booking more apartments on trips abroad

The share of Russians’ trips abroad that included a rented apartment doubled over the past year, rising to 20%, travel service Tutu said, citing its own research.

The data cover trips from October 2025 to October 2026. Hotels remained the most popular option, accounting for 54% of stays.

Travelers were less likely to stay with friends or relatives abroad. The share of such trips fell from 20% to 12%. Tutu said the popularity of other types of accommodation changed little.

Private houses, sanatoriums, hostels and privately rented flats each accounted for between 3% and 10% of trips. In a small number of cases, travelers stayed in tents, glamping sites, riverboats or yachts. The published report did not specify the sample size or research methodology.
