Saudi-led coalition reports strikes on Houthi military targets

The Saudi-led coalition announced a large operation against Houthi military capabilities in Yemen. It claimed to have destroyed 136 military targets.
Shafaq News reported on October 9 that the coalition described efforts to dismantle the Houthis’ ballistic missile network. It also said it provided continuous air support to internationally recognised Yemeni government forces. The target count is a claim by a party to the conflict.
The announcement comes amid renewed warfare in Yemen and attacks on Saudi Arabia. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said Saudi strikes hit civilian sites in Sanaa and several provinces. The sides offered differing accounts of the targets and effects. Earlier on October 9, UN envoy Hans Grundberg warned that Yemen had returned to full-scale war and urged political engagement.
