Semafor reports White House debate over intelligence sharing with Ukraine

The White House is discussing possible restrictions on intelligence sharing with Ukraine, Semafor reported on October 14, citing an administration official. The report describes an unresolved debate, rather than an order to end cooperation.

According to the outlet, officials have not reached agreement and CIA Director John Ratcliffe opposes the idea. The source also suggested that a restriction could be limited to information about targets inside Russia.

The report came after President Donald Trump told journalists on October 13 that the United States was continuing to share intelligence with Ukraine. He said Washington wanted to end the war and was working with both Kyiv and Moscow.

Interfax also cited a New York Times report about talks in Miami the previous Friday. An unnamed US official denied suggestions that Washington had threatened to withdraw intelligence support, while saying Trump’s subsequent decisions were difficult to predict.
