Shokhin says a ruble near 90 per dollar would support Russian exporters

An exchange rate around 90 rubles per dollar would help Russian exporters, import substitution and budget objectives, said Alexander Shokhin, head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. He gave the assessment at a State Council commission meeting on industry.
Shokhin described his preferred level as around 90, without specifying firm upper or lower limits.
The Economic Development Ministry forecasts 86 rubles per dollar at the end of this year. Its annual average projections for subsequent years are 87.4 rubles per dollar in 2027, 92 rubles per dollar in 2028 and 96 rubles per dollar in 2029.
