Sputnik signs cooperation agreement with Jilin media corporation

Sputnik news agency and radio signed a cooperation agreement with Jilin Internet Media Corporation at Rossiya Segodnya's Moscow office on October 9, according to RIA Novosti.
Sputnik's First Deputy Editor-in-Chief Sergei Kochetkov and the Chinese corporation's Executive Editor-in-Chief Chen Zhiwen took part in the signing. The agreement provides for regular exchanges of news materials and joint projects.
The organisations agreed to assist each other's correspondents and hold joint information and cultural events. Kochetkov linked the partnership to direct dialogue between Russian and Chinese media, while Chen expressed readiness for practical cooperation.
Coverage of the 2027 Winter Universiade in Changchun was discussed separately. According to FISU, the competition will run from January 15 to 25. The agreement concerns media coverage rather than organisation of the games themselves.
