State Duma transport committee backs Yadrov for transport minister
The State Duma’s transport and transport infrastructure committee recommended that the chamber approve Dmitry Yadrov as transport minister. The committee voted unanimously, RBC’s correspondent reported.
Yadrov currently heads Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency. He has been nominated to replace Andrei Nikitin, whom the same committee backed for deputy prime minister overseeing transport.
The budget and tax committee also unanimously backed Anton Siluanov for deputy prime minister and finance minister. Committee chair Andrei Makarov said representatives of every parliamentary faction on the committee supported him.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin submitted the government nominations to the State Duma on October 19 after meeting President Vladimir Putin. The committees recommended that the chamber approve the proposed appointments.
