Teen detained on suspicion of killing a peer in Nalchik

Russia's Investigative Committee opened a case after a minor died in a dormitory on October 12. The suspect is a teenager born in 2009.
Investigators say the confrontation took place in a dormitory room on First Promyshlenny Passage. One teenager allegedly stabbed a peer in the chest, causing a fatal injury.
The regional Investigative Committee announced the suspect's detention and an investigation under Article 105, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, covering murder. Investigators are collecting and securing evidence, while prosecutors in Kabardino-Balkaria are overseeing the case.
RIA Novosti later reported, citing regional law enforcement sources, that the incident occurred in a construction college's dormitory. The initial investigators' statement did not name the educational institution.
The circumstances of the confrontation remain subject to investigation. Detention and the opening of a criminal case do not constitute a court finding that the suspect is guilty.
