Teenagers detained after fight outside St Petersburg shopping centre

The Investigative Committee said on October 9 that six teenagers aged 14–15 had been detained over a fight outside a shopping centre in St Petersburg's Primorsky district. The agency also mentioned an 18-year-old among those detained.

The case is being investigated as hooliganism. The city's Investigative Committee office announced the investigation on October 8 after reports of a mass fight. Investigators say the confrontation took place on the evening of October 7 outside a shopping and entertainment complex.

According to investigators, participants pointed a pistol-like object at the alleged victims and used physical force. One person needed medical assistance. The agency's account did not establish that the object was a functioning firearm.

The committee said the suspects had previously been inside the shopping centre, displaying pistol-like objects and fighting among themselves. Investigators carried out urgent procedures with those detained. The agency said they admitted guilt and expressed remorse during questioning. These statements describe the investigators' account, rather than findings by a court.
