Three Horses named Bar of the Year in Good Food Guide awards

Melbourne's Three Horses received the Bar of the Year award from The Age Good Food Guide, according to the awards coverage published on October 12, 2026.

The venue is run by Rob Libecans, Matt Stirling and Ryan Noreiks. The same team operates Caretaker's Cottage, which won the guide's equivalent award in 2022.

Three Horses puts sherry at the centre of its drinks menu, offering both individual pours and cocktails built around the fortified wine. The bar is near Caretaker's Cottage in central Melbourne.

The team also received New Bar of the Year recognition at the Australian Bar Awards in September. That is a separate competition from the Good Food Guide awards announced in October.

The guide says its reviews are conducted anonymously and paid for independently. Venues cannot buy a review or inclusion in the guide, according to its published policy.
