‘Tinder Swindler’ announces Safe Love dating app with identity checks

Shimon Yehuda Hayut, known as the “Tinder Swindler,” has unveiled Safe Love, a dating service that he says will verify users’ identities and include an emergency alert. The app is not yet publicly available.

In an interview with ITV’s This Morning, Hayut said he was completing legal formalities and expected to launch the service in the coming weeks. He said sign-up would require an official ID and a selfie. The system would compare the documents and images, and reject an account if the visual mismatch exceeded 15%.

Hayut also said Safe Love would include an alert button for in-person dates. He described it as activating audio and video recording while sending a user’s location to police. La Nación reported that the Online Dating and Discovery Association had asked Apple and Google to keep the service out of their app stores.

Hayut became widely known through Netflix’s documentary The Tinder Swindler, which described how he allegedly used a false identity to meet women and obtain money from them. The proposed app has drawn criticism because of that history. Its features have been outlined by Hayut, and the service has not yet launched.
