Tomsk wood-panel factory fire contained across 3,000 square metres

Firefighters contained a blaze at a wood-panel plant in Tomsk on October 14 after its area reached 3,000 square metres, the regional Emergencies Ministry reported.
The ministry initially reported burning drying equipment inside a production building on Kuzovlevsky Trakt. Its first estimate put the fire at 1,000 square metres.
More than 50 personnel and 19 vehicles were deployed. The ministry said the building’s high fire load complicated the response. Preliminary reports indicated no injuries.
Regional prosecutor Sergei Lomakin placed the investigation of the circumstances under his supervision. Containment means the spread of the fire has been stopped, rather than confirming that it has been fully extinguished.
