Police arrest protesters at London memorial during Palestine march
Pro-Palestine march marks three years of war in Gaza

Police arrested several participants in a pro-Palestinian march in central London on October 10 after they climbed onto the Battle of Britain memorial. The arrests were made on suspicion of criminal damage.

British media reported the arrests, citing police. Clashes broke out as officers intervened, with other demonstrators demanding that those detained be released.

The march protested Israel's actions in Gaza and took place around the third anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Participants carried Palestinian flags and placards.

A counter-protest organised by Stop The Hate in support of Israel took place near the headquarters of London's police. The Metropolitan Police had announced conditions for the march the previous day, citing participant safety and the need to prevent public disorder.
