US approval clears Boeing’s largest 737 MAX for deliveries

The Federal Aviation Administration approved Boeing’s 737 MAX 10 on Tuesday, clearing the way for deliveries of the largest version in the aircraft family.

The regulator said approval followed years of scrutiny of the aircraft’s design and safety requirements. FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford said the agency would continue to hold Boeing to the highest safety standards.

Boeing had been pursuing certification since the early 2020s. The company has counted on the model to help generate cash as it rebuilds its finances after crises and delays.

Airlines have ordered more than 1.55 thousand MAX 10 aircraft, accounting for 31% of Boeing’s 737 order backlog, according to analytics firm IBA figures reported by Interfax.
