Putin says first tankers under diesel deal will sail in two to three days

The first tankers carrying Russian diesel under arrangements with the United States will depart in two to three days, Vladimir Putin told US envoy Steve Witkoff.
The Russian president said several vessels were already being prepared for dispatch. His remarks gave a near-term timetable for the shipments discussed by Moscow and Washington.
Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed Russian diesel supplies to the US and international markets in a telephone conversation on October 9.
After the call, the US Treasury issued a temporary general licence permitting Russian diesel supplies to the world market. Russia’s government partly lifted its diesel export ban, with the decision taking effect on October 10.
