Yevgeny Korzh, the head of Ussuriysk, has been appointed acting deputy governor of Russia's Primorye region. The regional government said he will oversee relations with the regional legislature, election commission and municipalities, as well as domestic and information policy and construction.
Korzh has led Ussuriysk for nearly 12 years. Before becoming mayor in 2014, he worked as an aide to the governor on land issues, the regional government said.
In his new role, Korzh will oversee the regional government's relations with the Primorye Legislative Assembly, the regional election commission and local self-government bodies. His portfolio will also include domestic and information policy, construction, construction oversight and supervision of shared-equity construction.
Korzh's term as head of Ussuriysk was extended for five years in November 2024. Ussuriysk is the region's second-largest city by population, after Vladivostok.
