Vegetable storage expansion planned to add 24,000 tonnes of capacity

Two further phases of a vegetable storage and processing complex are planned in Lukhovitsy under an investment agreement of intent worth 360 million rubles, the regional agriculture ministry said.

Minister Vitaly Mosin and SPK imeni Lenina chief executive Andrey Grachkovsky signed the document at Golden Autumn 2026. Each phase is intended to add 12,000 tonnes of simultaneous storage capacity.

The complex will cover more than 10,700 square metres and feature active ventilation and refrigeration. The ministry expects the equipment to help preserve harvests until the following season.

The enterprise belongs to the Malino group, which has operated in agriculture for over 30 years. Its local land holdings total 3,000 hectares, including 620 hectares allocated to potatoes in 2026. It also grows onions, wheat, barley and flax.
