Podziemski agrees to five-year, $110 million Warriors extension

Brandin Podziemski has agreed to a five-year, $110 million contract extension with the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN and AP reports on 10 October.
His agent confirmed the terms to ESPN. The 23-year-old guard was selected with the No. 19 pick in the draft. He appeared in all 82 regular-season games last season, averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
The extension begins next summer. CBS Sports reports that its first-year salary will be $18.9 million, compared with the $17 million cap hold the Warriors would otherwise have carried for him. A cap hold reserves salary-cap space while a player's contract situation remains unresolved.
The difference between those figures is $1.9 million. The agreement secures a longer-term relationship with the guard, while the extension itself does not take effect during the current season.
