Witkoff returns to Oslo after talks with Putin in St Petersburg

US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Oslo after talks with Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg. Interfax reported his return, citing Norway's public broadcaster, while RBC also cited Flightradar24 tracking data.
The October 21 meeting at the Konstantinovsky Palace lasted more than three hours and focused on the war in Ukraine. Witkoff presented proposals prepared following consultations with Ukraine and European countries.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said Moscow was ready to resume talks with the United States and Ukraine around the middle of November.
On October 20, Witkoff had taken part in Oslo talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. Støre had told NRK he expected the American envoy to return after meeting Putin for further consultations.
