YADRO reports LTE speed above 800 Mbit/s on BTS8100

A YADRO BTS8100 base station operating in MegaFon's commercial network demonstrated LTE data speeds above 800 Mbit/s at the Digital Solutions forum, the manufacturer said on 9 October.

The company attributed the result to a new radio module for the 2100 and 2600 MHz bands, 256 QAM modulation and aggregation of three carriers. The aggregation feature is implemented in YADRO also described the module's specifications in a September release.

For comparison, the manufacturer cited its CIPR 2025 demonstration, where the equipment delivered speeds up to 300 Mbit/s. The company said the figure had increased more than 2.5 times in a year and a half.

CNews and iXBT also reported the demonstration. The speed above 800 Mbit/s concerns the forum test. The report provides no average result for all network subscribers or details of independent comparative testing.
